Pack 49's Crawford County Heritage Award was designed to give youth
recognition for learning about the heritage of our county, and being
involved as a citizen of our county.
By completing the Crawford County Heritage Award, it is hoped greater
understanding and pride of our county will prevail. All requirements can be done with a unit, group, family, or
individually. Adults can also earn the award if they complete the requirements
and assist a youth in earning the award.
A certificate can be awarded to all that successfully complete the award
requirements:

Tell when Crawford County was founded, and who founded it.

Tell who Crawford County was named after, and what that person did.

Tell what the county seat of Crawford County is.

List the 8 counties surrounding Crawford County.

List the 13 towns/cities in Crawford County.

Tell when the first Courthouse was constructed
-
Tell when and why
the current Courthouse was constructed.
-
Visit the Courthouse to find out where the following
offices are located, and find out what workers do in each of the
offices: auditor, recorder, and treasurer. (You will have to get a
signature from each office on the form.)

How many people live in Crawford County, according to the 2000
Census?

How many square miles is Crawford County?
-
Name at least three major parks, historical sites, and/or recreational
areas in Crawford
County. Visit at least one of these sites and tell what you saw or
did.

Write a story or poem, or draw a picture, about living in Crawford
County.

Donate at least one hour in a community service project for the
county.
