Crawford County Heritage
Denison Pack 49

Pack 49's Crawford County Heritage Award was designed to give youth recognition for learning about the heritage of our county, and being involved as a citizen of our county.

By completing the Crawford County Heritage Award, it is hoped greater understanding and pride of our county will prevail. All requirements can be done with a unit, group, family, or individually.  Adults can also earn the award if they complete the requirements and assist a youth in earning the award.

A certificate can be awarded to all that successfully complete the award requirements:

  • Tell who Crawford County was named after, and what that person did.

  • Tell what the county seat of Crawford County is.

  • List the 8 counties surrounding Crawford County.

  • List the 13 towns/cities in Crawford County.

  • Tell when the first Courthouse was constructed

  • Tell when and why the current Courthouse was constructed.

  • Visit the Courthouse to find out where the following offices are located, and find out what workers do in each of the offices: auditor, recorder, and treasurer. (You will have to get a signature from each office on the form.)
