Popcorn and Wreath
Sales
Each fall during
October, boys have the opportunity to help fund their Cub Scout
adventures and purchase needed items for Scouting through the
annual popcorn and wreath sale.
Each boy who sells a
set amount of popcorn and wreaths (combined) will have their $25
registration fees paid for the following year. We have other
incentives, including Pack 49 Event Vouchers and Scouting
merchandise such as books, neckerchiefs, shirts, walking sticks,
mugs and much more.

Friends of Scouting (FOS)
From the
Mid-America Council website:
The friends of
Scouting campaign enables the Mid-America Council to provide
programs and services to the youth of the area. Many young
people may not get the chance to have a hands-on Scouting
experience without the generosity of corporations, community
members and families of current Scouts.
Donations made during the annual campaign are used to maintain
six camps and their camp staff, provide training materials for
the 11,000 volunteers throughout the Council, maintain accident
insurance to protect our Scouts and their leaders and fund other
programs including Teen Court, Juvenile Diversion and Scoutreach
efforts in rural and urban areas.
As parents and Scout
leaders, you are motivated to "lead by example." You do a great
job of this when it comes to community service, teaching social
manners and pride in our country. Youth also need a good example
when it comes to giving from the heart and their financial
resources. A way to demonstrate this type of "good deed" is to
support the annual "Friends of Scouting" campaign. Donations
permit other youngsters without adequate resources to enjoy
everything Scouting has to offer.
